7 Reasons Why You Should Drink Warm Water With Lemon

Because it doesn’t matter who you are, the first action of your day often sets the tone for the rest of your day. Whether you are a stay at home mom or the owner of a huge corporation, everyone should make sure they get their day off to the perfect start.

Did you know that each choice you make everyday either builds a resistance to certain diseases or tears it down? According to Ayurvedic philosophy you should begin your day by performing morning rituals that work hard to align your body with natures rhythms, foster self esteem and self discipline as well as balance the doshas.

You are probably thinking that you have too many other obligations and things to do every morning to add yet another ritual.

However, you should definitely make the time for a warm mug of water mixed with the juice of half a lemon.

The benefits are just too hard to ignore and include the following:

1. It gives your immune system a boost.

Lemons are high in vitamin C and potassium. Vitamin C helps to fight colds and other ailments, while potassium helps control blood pressure.

2. Helps you lose weight.

Because they are high in fiber, lemons keep you feeling full. When you feel full you are less likely to over eat. Starting your day with lemon water can help you eat less for breakfast.

3. Balances your pH.

You know lemons to be highly acidic. However, when introduced into your body they become alkaline. Everyone knows that an alkaline body is the key to perfect health.

4. Hydrates your lymph system.

Water is the most important liquid you can drink to ensure properhydration. By staring the day with a cup, you are already a step ahead of most people. When your body is dehydrated it is taxing on your adrenal glands and your kidneys. When your body can’t fuction at its peak it can cause toxins to build up which cause constipation and stress. Your adrenals also create aldosterone which is key to regulating water levels and keeps minerals such as sodium in check. If you are feeling stressed, it may be due to dehydration as the adrenals also regulate stress.

5. Clearer skin.

Not many people can say they do not want clearer skin. If you want to slow down the formation of wrinkles and have fewer blemishes, vitamin C found in lemons will help. Lemon water also removes toxins from the blood, which also leads to clearer skin.

6. It’s a gentle diretic.

You may have heard that cranberries are the key to a healthy urinary tract. while this is true, you should not under estimate the power of lemon. They increase your urination rate, which flushes your urinary tract.

7. Helps with digestion.

The warm water actually stimulates your gastrointestinal tract and keeps everything running like a well oiled machine. Both lemons and limes are very high in vitamins and minerals which help to loosen toxins in your digestive tract.

So if you think you are too busy to make changes to your morning routine, at least consider implementing this one. Give it a few days and you may soon look forward to your mornings.

No special complicated ingredients to buy, simply keep your kitchen stocked with lemons. Add the juice of half a lemon to your warm water every morning and you will see improvements in your health.
