Artists Use Elements From Nature To Create Beautiful Pieces of Art.

Dietmar Voorwold, a German artist based in Scotland, is known for creating stunning, but fleeting pieces of land art. He takes leaves, branches, rocks and other natural materials and arranges them into geometrical shapes and patterns that are beautiful in their simplicity.

He uses materials he finds at the site and leaves it there once it’s completed, until either time or the weather erases it, leaving only pictures and memories of what once was. Voorwold is a firm believer in using art as a form of therapy, noting that these pieces heal through their transient nature. As he explained: ” It is just for the moment. This is very therapeutic aspect of my own way of creating art.”

Voorwold also holds art therapy classes, teaching and guiding them to create their own land art and ease their burdens.
